The NO Holds Barred radio Show has Officially closed it’s Doors

As of January 1, 2018 the No Holds Barred Radio Show no longer broadcasts a live stream. We want to thank you for all the years you spent laughing along with us. Whether you listened to us on or even the network, thank you for the time you spent with us. Below, each of the hosts have written messages to summarize what the show has meant to them.

I first heard NHB in 2000. Damon had posted to some email list about it. It sounded cool, and I was immedietly hooked. I was fortunate to be asked to join up with this merry band of morons in 2003, and it all went down hil from there. Since then, I’ve been honored to co-host the show on and off since 2007. Leaving is one of the hardest things I’ve had to do in my life, but I feel it’s time to spread my wings and fly. All of you whether you loved the show or hated it have made it fun for me. I will miss the Wednesday nights I spent on the internet radio airwaves making you all laugh. I look forward to what the future holds for me, and NHB willl always hold a special place in my heart. I apologize to you the listener and to Damon who I knot only think of as a friend, but a brother. My choice to leave was difficult, and I realize is a huge resulting factor in why the show is ending. It wasn’t easy to do this, and I hope everyone can forgive me. Again. Thank you to everyone who called and wrote in over the years. I love you all. A band I really love named Duvall has a lyric that summarizes how I feel about not just life, but projects in general. I hope that this holds true for NHB, and I hope we will see bigger and better things in the future. I leave you with that lyric. “Before the new dream can fly,the old one has to die.”

NHB began as a college radio show in 1993 at Monmouth University. Through its college incarnation to the internet, one goal has always remained. To try to entertain with whatever insane shit I could think of. January 2018 marks 25 years since I sat behind the mixing console at that station and it is a fitting time to hang up the microphone. Internet radio has changed so much since 1999 when NHB took to an uncensored frontier. With the changes in my life in the last year and the changes to the landscape of internet broadcasting, it is just time for me to hang up the mic. There were a lot of ups and downs, but overall, I am proud of what was accomplished by not just me, but everybody I have had the fortune to work with on this show and the network it spawned. I will cherish it and miss it immensely, but I just don’t think I have anything more to give to this hobby. After 25 years, it’s time to stop. Thank you to everybody who supported us throughout the 25 years on and off that we’ve existed. To those who are still here, I am really sorry to pull the plug on something you all have enjoyed. I appreciate that we have gotten you through bad and good times in your life. You’ve come along for the ride, at whatever point you’ve jumped on and it is greatly appreciated. Like any other form of entertainment, whether it’s a band, TV show or whatever, all good things must end. I’d rather it end now than for it to drag on to a point where nobody cares anymore. I don’t want to be like that band long passed its prime who still drag themselves on tour to withering crowds, barely able to play the songs they wrote 30 years ago. This feels like a natural end for me and I’m at peace with it. I’ll miss doing the show, but I don’t have enough gas in the tank to give you all what you’ve come to expect. And I always said, if Liam were to lose interest, I won’t do the show without him. We’ve developed a chemistry that, in my opinion, surpassed all prior incarnations of this show and I don’t have the time or desire, at 43 years of age, to rebuild this show again. The podcasts are still available, so whenever you are low and need a good laugh, go download an episode and we’re there to boost you up again. Thanks for taking this crazy ride with us. Your Mom’s box.
